The wait have been quite long for this new Dimmu Borgir combination album with live tracks (Wacken Open Air 2012) and tracks recorded in Oslo with The Norwegian Radio Orchestra & Choir.

The sound are as expected, excellent all through the album, both on the live tracks and the tracks recorded with the orchestra and choir. The Dimmy Borgir sound a music comes to its rights here and the whole symphonic black metal thing make sense on the orchestra/choir tracks.

For my personal taste its a bit too much parts/tracks with only the orchestra/choir, it gets sometimes hard for me to play it from beginning to end. But there are many good “classic” Dimmu Borgir tracks here that are really good and well performed, like the tracks “Gateways”, “Dimmu Borgir”, “Kings Of The Carnival Creation” and my all-time favorite Dimmu Borgir piece, “Mourning Palace”. The album ends with a perfect outro, the track “Perfection Or Vanity” performed by the orchestra.

The product is great, really good looking and money spent on it. A bit strange photoshop combination of images on the backside but I do get the point. The label (Nuclear Blast) have made many different versions of this release, several vinyl versions, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, Media Book and maybe more. They will for sure make money on this album.
